So I just found out that:

Gold Experience
Black Album
Symbol
Rave Un2
Chaos and Disorder
Crystal Ball

Are all out of print. I knew about the first two, but not the last fourlisted (there could be others I'm forgetting). Does this mean that chances of Prince reissues are likely?

Rave is no surprise to me bc no place at all has it. Same with Chaos. Symbol must've only recently gone out of print because I saw it at a lot of places over the summer. All the era stuff is probably not gonna be reissued, but the other stuff could be.

does that mean they will sell for more on the likes of Ebay?

Try looking at Amazon, even if Amazon dont have it, they have sellers who do - I got Lovesexy 1 & 2 |Videos and they are sealed through these sellers.

Ebay should be a last resort for Compact Disc Albums as you should still be able to find a lot of stuff on the Internet.

and I bought A6 on tape at the Goodwill last week ($2.00!)
It was the most exciting purchase I've made all month

There is a special hall of fame section of all the inductees throughout the years. The Rock Hall staff have said they try to keep every release the artist/band/singer has done in stock for their guests.

I don't think Symbol and Chaos & Disorder are out of print. Warner owns those masters.

The Black Album was a limited edition. The Gold Experience is owned by Prince (in some capacity).

Anything post Warner Brothers is "out of print" because Prince owns the master tapes. However, you usually can find them in the stores. I see Crystal Ball all the time in Tower Recors in ATL.

At my local record store there are about 4 copies of The Black Album, I'll get one eventually, they range from prices of 15-25$

and remember: "out of print" doesn't necessarily mean "unavailable". it just means they're not pressing any more copies. so hurry up and get 'em, but don't worry that they're not there to get.

I still see Crystal ball and the Symbol Cd in record stores these days. I'm pretty sure they're not out of print.

Just thought I would point out how expensive HMV are !!! Amazingly they are selling early albums like For You and Prince at £16:99 Play.com have them at £6:99 last time I liooked.

I spotted a pressed CD copy of The Black Album for £11.00 and three copies of The Gold Experience going for £5.00 each at the Notting Hill Record Exchange. All discs are in EX condition.

So hurry if you have those gaps in your collection.

My word. I knew the Black Album and Crystal Ball weren't available anymore, but even though I admittedly havent seen the others on sale I'm surprised they aren't.

I think I found most of mine in 2nd hand shops when I first started buying them bout 9 years ago. One thing I did get though is a 'limited edition' version of the Symbol album. Its in a gold case made of thick card and its got a purple metallic symbol on it. Has anyone else go this?
