Echo sound, help me! Which Prince songs has got an echo sound to it? (Like Empty room) Or the sound like he's standing in a big venue? (Like TMBGITW)
I'd appreciate it if you list the ones you remember

the most echo i can think of is on "Still would Stand all time"... actually "Let's go Crazy" has a football stadium echo on it.

I'd appreciate it if you list the ones you remember You are thinking of heavy REVERB not echo. Prince has an echo (digital delay) on his guitar etc quite frequently but the heavy hall reverb on the vocals is less used because it is a very specific sound obviously and less versatile. Can't think of any other songs off hand though ... ian

"Gold" has plenty of reverb, but only the beginning... sounds like he's on top of a mountain.
Sorry for stating the obvious. 8) I mean, like, where is the sun?

Oh my... All his songs have reverb on 'em. What kind of a stupid question is this anyway? Reverb gets added at least on the mastering stage. Even "Kiss" has applied reverb to it even though there's only very little. Reverb also occurs when you sing to the mike (the distance between the grill and your lips determines the amount).
However, the albums that have the most reverberation must be "Purple Rain" and "Gold". Altough "Purple Rain" also had some genuine room reverberation due to the not necessarily recording industry standards meeting recording environment. "Gold" is just bathing in Lexicon. But the point is that most likely every second element that he uses in his music has "echo" to it even though he is infamous for not letting many mixes to get lubricated by it. echo...
