31:21 Prince and the old testiment. I don't know if you noticed, but prince has a thing for the old testiment. He has named several of this idealisims after events in the old testiment. Thus:
Deuteronomy 31:21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

2 Chronicles
31:21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did [it] with all his heart, and prospered. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

Thanks for this insight. The chance that there is a link is high. Prince is a spiritual man.
Ppl want him 2 write songs like 'vibrator' 'cream' 'jackuoff' 'doitallnite' but the man's mind isn't there ne more. he's exhausted the carnal thang & is looking 4 something higher, like 'the ladder'

Oh great, let's look forward to rainbow children 2 - more my-way-or-the-highway religious shite.
Digital Garden could have been an incredible song, but until he takes his head out of his arse and stops praying to his colon of conservative morality, i guess we're in for more of the same. Sad really - the lyrics ruin the music. Some say it's a sign of growth, personally i think it's a softcock sign of banality and losing touch with reality. He's in danger of becoming a combination of elvis, little richard and brian wilson well past there heyday, once they had long since become a joke. will this be yet another handjob for larry?? hope not

Yep, it's all been discussed ever since the phrase '3121' first appeared.

i agree prince seems like sometimes he's making music that's for airheads, but it's hard 2 expect him 2 return 2 sexually explicit music.
so, there has 2 b a balance somewhere. i think his religious life is causing a block between him & ppl who might like 2 hear really personal stuff in music; that relates 2 their daily lives...the hi's & lo's

Isn't 3121 a juxtaposition of his wedding anniversary date? 12/31.

I never thought about that. Sure beats the theory that it's his PIN.

more likely it is the other way around. maybe his wedding anniversary is juxtaposition of 31:21 News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

well...I think it gets misinterpreted. correct me if I'm wrong but JW use NWT bible right? It's the ONLY bible they "trust" if I'm not mistaken. and it is ONLY used by JW right? "not a fan" yeah...ok

The New World Translation put Jehovah's name back in the Bible, but is basically the same as other bible's. Also many Witnesses have copies of several differnt Bibles (including King James Version), and new bible students are encouraged to use their own personal bible when studing to show/prove that all info taught is in their bible and not "made up"

That's not all it did. Basically the same...if that's close enough for you...then good. well...none the less, it is technically a "new" version of the bible. 1950 if I'm not mistaken....pretty new in "bible" terms "not a fan" yeah...ok

I'm not sure what you mean by "not all it did"- it is a recognized bible, It has the same information yours does. I have a copy and copies of Kings James Version and Womens Devotional- they read the same. It is an accurate translation from the original languages- hebrew and greek

what I meant was "putting Jehovah's name back in the Bible" is not all the NWT changed. recognized by who? JW's...that's about it. Considering the translators of the NWT admittedly spoke no greek or hebrew and could not translate from one to the other or to english...I find the claim of "accurate translation" hard to believe. "not a fan" yeah...ok

The new World Translation Bible is available in greek even today so I'm not sure what you mean when you say that they couldnt translate it so it couldnt be accurate. do you have a copy? If so, then compare it to your bible and tell me how it isn't accurate. I was raised Catholic and had no problem with the accuracy. I even did non- denominal research at my local library and found it to be accuate in prophocy, history and authenticity.

Okay, I'm not claiming to have ever seen the NWT bible, B4 anyone jumps down my throat. I have King James and NIV. What's "different" about NWT?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It put Jehovah's name back in the bible- if you have an older version of the King James Bible it should be in there also @ Ex.6:3, Ps 83:18, Is. 12;2,26:4 among others. i'm not sure why it's authenticity is being questioned. I have both the King James and NWT and the are the same except for the "thou""s and such if you know what I mean.

Oh, Thanks! Yeah I know what you mean about people questioning the authenticity. People tend to do that w/ the NIV too, and the only difference btw. that and the King James version is they changed a couple words around to make it easier to understand. I think maybe it's cuzza what it says at the end of Revelations.

Hey no problem! People want to always pick and poke at us Jehovahs Witnesses (which I dont really mind) but at least be informed. It amazes me the things I've seen on this site alone which arent true- most of which says "I've heard" or "I think" and such. I was raised Catholic and made sure I did my homework before accepting a different religion. We don't isolate ourselves- we hold jobs and live in neighborhoods the same as everyone else. I am the only Jehovah's Witness in my family and I see all of them all the time- in fact my dad is at my place right now. Some of the things I've seen are pretty far fetched, others just misinformed about some of the things that are otherwise true-they just have their info mixed up a little.

That's cool. So just curios, did you become a Prince fan b4 or after becoming a JW?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I've always liked some of his stuff but, admittedly, only logged onto this site after I'd heard he was one of JW. Wanted to find out if it was true. I've heard from several JW's that he went to our headquarters in New York to record intrumental music for our kingdom hall melodies, which is the music that you hear before and after the meetings and at assemblies. This is always done on a volunteer basis, so I thought that was cool of him to do, because the he wasn't paid for it. It's a priviledge to be asked to do it- because your able to use your talents freely to benefit others. Like our door to door ministy, we dont get paid for that, its done on a volunteer basis. it's nice to be able to use our skills to help others, without expecting things in return. Matt 10:8-..."you received free, give free". our bible students don't pay for their study. Prince didn't have to pay for someone to teach him bible truths, so when we help the organization by doing the volunteer work in any form that is our way of contibuting or giving back.

no offense but I can get your post in greek too, all books and whatnot are translated into other languages these days....the point is, the originalbiblical texts were in greek and hebrew...you'd think if you were going to translate a new bible you'd go by the original texts. no? "not a fan" yeah...ok
