this song is really really good it tops my iTunes playcount (i have 60 days of music on it!!)BUT i have no information about it at all, how old is it? is it officially downloadable? am i allowed to play it in my bar if it is a bootleg?

It's off The Choclate Invasion which became available to download from npgmusicclub on the same day that musicology was released in 2004. When I heard it first it became one of my favourite prince tunes for a few weeks but then I tired of it. You could even get an official supercute t-shirt from npgmc.

i bought the chocolate invasion but i admit i haven't really listened to it, i didn't even realise it was from that album. When was it recorded?

It was made available as a single (b/w Underneath the Cream) for purchase at the 2001 Hit N Run shows, which indicates it was probably recorded sometime between "Rave..." in 1999 and Spring of 2001. Most likely - summer 2000.

You know I have to agree with you on that. I liked it at first but I got tired of it real quickly. He tries too hard to sound like he's down and the song goes on too long for me. In fact, today was the first time I've listened to the song in a while. If it wasn't for my train being crowded I would have skipped it.
