Okay, Prince seems to really be limited as far as a casual person would know...If you were to say Prince, any average Joe would instantly tell you "Purple Rain." Of course it's different from a musicians perspective, or a hardcore Prince fan's perspective. So I would assume that Prince would be the least popular of the three. Michael Jackson, I'm not his biggest fan, but I have the upmost respect for him. Everyone knows who Michael Jackson is whether it's the molestation case, or Thriller, or the Jackson 5. Again, from the average Joe perspective, the list could go on and on because everyone is familiar with everything Michael Jackson has done (Billie Jean, Don't Stop..., Thriller). Finally, Madonna. Because of her new album, she is probably going to be more recognized and that will lead her older fans back to her past albums and so on and so forth. She, however, is almost in the same situation as Prince finds himself in now- people want her back to the way she was- but frankly, she shouldn't. So to sum it all up, In order of popularity, I would say M.J., Madonna, and finally Prince. Though IMO, Prince is the best musician out of all three...
