Rave Unto the Joy Fantastic , HUH ??? Kinda bored here so thought I would take a look over on Sotheby's.com and stumbled on a load of Prince auctions . One lot being a hand written note from Prince as follows .

i saw that one too. very iteresting, especially the inclusion of good judy girlfriend. was that song around back then? i'm guessing that this was one of the configurations back in '88 when prince wanted to release an album after lovesexy. according to uptown, another configuration of rave included elephants & flowers, still would stand all time, bloody mouth, and a few other ones (ckeck out issue #45), but the basic structure was similar. very cool stuff. Was wondering,was this original Rave track configuration This is one of several configurations of the 'Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic' album that Prince was preparing in late 1988.If he had not been talked into doing the 'Batman' soundtrack in 1989,he probably would have released the 'Rave' album back then. This particular tracklist is interesting because,as far as I know,it's the first time that the song "Moonbeam Levels" had been placed on an album tracklist. | |

If I'm not mistaken,the song "Good Judy Girlfriend" is actually from the early 80s and it was considered for the Vanity 6 album.That's why it has that 1982-83 "electro-pop" sound. | |
