Just thought I'd let you maniac vultures know Madge just picked When Doves Cry as her alltime lifechanging track on Radio 1 where she's currently the guest host with bat-faced culture 'ho Jo Whiley. She muttered something about not wanting to take her shades off, then spoke about how she first heard Doves listening to her walkman while cycling home to her new NY flat when she 'was just realising what the world may have in store for her'. They played the full version, a few callers sent emails to say 'Wow, Madonna's a Prince fan, it doesn;t get any better' and 'That song send chills up my spine. Fantastic choice, Madonna'. Wiley then inquired about her about meeting Prince, she said he was very shy, it took two days to bond, he's very strange, but called him and MJ geniuses despite both being 'socially inadequate', and that was that. Now it's a bunch of over-excited gay men talking to her on the phone asking her about obscure b-sides.

I remember a Rolling Stone article from 1998 where she said that "When Doves Cry" is one of her favorite songs.

Madonna doesn't know Prince from adam and eve (now-a-days) because the two don't communicate anymore, its been nearly 15 years now.

Whenever I read about him, now, then, or whenever he is most often referred to as the Purple Eccentric, quirky, weird, shy, reclusive, etc....

I just think what is the point in saying this about somebody. It makes him sound like a freak.

Plus it's not like Madonna is so open You don't see her down the local supermarket or mising with the rest of the non-showbiz world.

The finger is always pointed at Prince or Michael Jackson in this way.
