It doesn't say whether TGE is jointly owned, or exclusively owned by WB. It does provide lots of conflicting info, rumours and opinions. Hard to conclude what the deal really was then. Was TGE jointly owned ('special' deal) and is that the reason why it is out of print now (because Prince/NPG records doesn't permit reprinting), or was it not jointly owned and pulled by WB because of... ? What's the truth? You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security. | |

If it was exclusively owned, it wouldn't be out of print, IMHO. Unless someone talks, all we can do is guess. But considering all other WB albums are still in print, it is clear that TGE is involved in some kind of special deal. I think *both* sides can block a re-release, and that deal also includes the non-release of the second NPG album (Exodus) in the USA. AFAIK that album also hasn't been reprinted by NPG since Prince leaving WB (whereas the second George Clinton and Mavis Staples albums on Paisley Park Records have been reprinted/re-released by NPG). © Bart Van Hemelen
