I really hope so about the funky part and also I love some Prince ballad, so I hope Te Amo going to be his best of all.

No special guests on this album other than the usual set of past musicians and a girl name Ashley Tamar.

There are rumblings about other musicians for other stuff but nothing said or done yet. just rumblings.

how about some song titles?


Don't know song titles other than obvious 3121 and Te ama corazon,
from what I heard the other titles sound like, but not sure as I only heard once and fast:

The Streets of Havana or Panama (I couldn't really understand)
Beautiful
Lolita

and I'm not sure of the rest. I heard it too fast. but its excellent stuff.

To my ears: completely commercial. 3121 is an immediate fix for me, since I'm more into "classic" Prince.

What do you mean by immediate fix? That your just happy theres new music but you aren't that keen or that 3121 is reminiscent of princes earlier/classic work such as sign of the times?


the song, 3121 reminds me of classic Prince

the other songs are good, i like them .. the ballads are sexy, nothing near "Adore" but closer to "The One" imo anyway.

the uptempo songs.. 2 are heavy R&B, 1 is synth oriented, 2 are horn populated.

I believe back in the summer you said the cd had a latin flavor.
Is that overall or just some tracks?


The latin flavor is on the TE AMO song, and another song. he used some panamanian musicians.

its more adult format overall.. i think.

Actually my answer is not incomplete as I have heard the entire album including TWO very r&b songs with Ashley Davis. It should do well on urban formats. its good, very smooth.

I have seen the entire video and its nice but not anything super spectacular. The album itself feels well rounded.

Like i said, i heard it once at work and I couldn't make out all of the lyrics or songs. I know Maceo Parker plays some mean horns on the last song. The 2 synth based songs along with 3121 are funky as hell, like I said. And the ballads including Satisfied make your girl wet.

Otherwise, unless you hear it for yourself I can't explain it anymore. My least favorite was Streets of Havana or Panama.. I couldn't tell what he said. Its just ok.

But what do I know, Its just my opinion.

In your description of the album, you didn't mention any guitar driven songs. Are there any?

Also, could the tone and feel of this album be likened to another Prince album/era?

There are 3 guitar driven songs but as far as I am concerned it is not rock driven or super funky album. there are a 3 cool songs like that, but not overall. its a nice solid album but not stellar, imo.

I would buy it though, I doubt if it would remain on my playlist for over a couple of weeks.

As far as Prince era, its hard to describe because there are elements of eras but not defined. 3121 sounds like erotic city on crack (in a good way). streets of havana like a pumped up tangerine with horns or how do you do girl from musicology on pep pills. lolita sounds like 80s synth with a catchy tune.
