The song shouldnt be released as a download single until he does some promotions and gets some airplay!!

most ppl only release the downloads when the song is peaking on airplay!!

i partly agree with what your saying, but i don't think that prince wanted to stop the ad being shown! how else would people know it was going to bloody happen! not everyone goes on several prince sites a day (like me) so therefore gathers rumours about something being announced on 12/13 because its the name of princes address backwards (seriously, how tenuous is that, do you think he saw a fan mention it on a fansite and thought it would be funny to actually do it?).

the music club 'pride' themselves on being the first for "official" news, now considering this is possibly the first time ever that rumours have come true (and on such an astonishing level too) you can see why the npgmc was useful for differentiating such stuff, however, if all rumours were true then of course we'd always know first from other sources.

however, lets not forget the strength of rumours before musicology that prince had resigned with warner brothers. that rumour got so strong is was reported in the press etc.

its good he's signed with universal i guess, he's worked with them since they took care of his publishing (thats right, right?) and so on, so he must get on well with them.

we'll see on 13/12 (or 12/13 as you yanks call it! ) but like whoever says i can't imagine it being much more than the official announcement of whats already been announced, if that makes sense. plus lets face it the song and video is going to be all over the net about an hour after its been shown!

or release it as giveaway musicology dvd and increase the ticket price by $6-8
and/or include it as add on option to ticket sale

Even if he releases dvd thru retail he wont make much more then $8/dvd becasue all the marketing and shipment cost! he can release it in the bare dvd cover he had for the giveaway

The number of ppl who will get hands on this dvd will be alot more then those who traditionally buy the dvds therefore the profits will be very high

The cd giveaway created quite a buzz around the music industry
