Who knows, maybe the Park was built to open to the outdoors?

That is just insane! If I paid $125 to see Prince in concert in a theater with air conditioning and assigned, soft seats, and concessions and ended up standing in line to get into a general admission venue where I would be smashed up against the stage, standing for the whole night, and only able to buy NPG water, only perhaps to see the performance on a video projection on a wall I would be PISSED!

Now folks can look at all my posts in the past and see that I pretty much have tried to maintain a positive attitude and perspective on what Prince is doing and trying to do... I have even been accused of being an asskisser... but really this is just out the box.

I'm gonna get plenty of sleep during my flight tomorrow... cuz there are gonna be quite a few confused, if not angry and frustrated, people.

Mhm mhm mhm (shaking head back and forth).

I hope everyone realizes that there are going to be people watching the show from the NPGMC room. I'm sure they will open up the huge doors (The ones from the Gett Off Video), but you are not going to have good sightlines to say the least.

I'm assuming that these will be the people who bought the Orpheum tickets. I wonder what people will think when they realize that they payed $125 to watch a concert in a different room? I'm sure they will play it on the video board to help the people with the poor sightlines.

How do I know this? Unless Prince is going to play outside the soundstage only holds so many people so they are going to have to stick the overflow in the NPGMC room.

I had thought of this and am sooo afraid of it happening and I will go ballistic if it does. I'm already ticked enough that I got baited into spending 137 (after charges) to attend a show at the Park, if I'm hearded into another room where I can't even see him! UhUh...

BTW the ticketmaster.com site shows the concert as cancelled now, I was thinking that not everyone has a car in the Mpls area so maybe a lot of people will not want 2 go all the way out to paisley park, it's strange that ticketmaster does not mention that NPGMC said they will honor all the tix at PP ...
I'm thinking now that maybe they'll just refund most of the concert tickets instead... Hmmm

Well said TheMax.
So, what is that structure he had built last year out on the grass??

Could it be used for a concert hall?
just curious,

Such cynicism from all of you! Does anyone really feel that these last minute changes were decided on a whim? Did I actually read that some feel the move back and forth from Paisley to the Orpheum then back to Paisley was an effort to make more money from members who didn't buy weeklong passes? With "fans" like these, who needs actual detractors? How sad!

Others believe he's moving it back to Paisley because of inadequate ticket sales? I doubt it. Didn't one post here indicate that they probably sold more than 1500 tickets in the first hour alone?

Why do people here at the org always try to use ticket sales (or record sales) to invalidate the effort that Prince puts into his music, or in this case, the Celebration? Ridiculous org-whiners!

In fact, the real concern will likely be that too many tickets were sold for a performance that will now be held at Paisley. For that, I imagine that Prince is not pleased. You see, I actually believe that he performs his music with the hope and expectation that guests enjoy themselves.

I desperately hope that Prince never visits this site! It's embarrassing at times. Someday I'd like to go to a Celebration. Hopefully he won't stop these special weeklong parties because of the ingrates who conspire to complain about every imperfect detail.

Youngandbeautiful, would you please get your fucking facts straight before you start crying that you loved Prince sooo much but now he's nothing but a greedy ass?
The daily passes does not include the concerts and most of the other activities, so people who are members still get more.
And when he moves the show to the Orpheum then of course he does want people to pay...but only the non-members. Members with tickets do not have to pay for this again.

Perhaps you should also try and pay attention before going on the attack.

P's site and emails from the NPGMC have stated repeatedly in recent times that based upon space availibility, NIGHTLY passes will be sold which will allow people admission into the concerts, no membership required.

Secondly, the theory for the Orpheum shows was to allow the many members who for various reasons couldn't/didn't purchase their pass time a chance to attend something of the event through the week. So the large majority of people who purchased these high priced Orpheum seats were members of the musicclub, not members of the gen public.

It is possible to love P's music and detest the way he and his crew organize functions...

I just posted this in the celebration forum, but wanted to make sure that all who need to see it do!

For non-passholders who bought tix to the Fri show

I emailed NPGMC asking how this would be handled, and got no reply yet.

I just spoke with ticketmaster, and they have a release that states, "Prince will not be performing at the Orpheum theatre on Fri June 21. He will be performing instead at Paisley Park studios in Chanhassen. Those wishing to attend will need to bring $100.00 cash to Paisley Park."

The guy I spoke with said that on-line ticket purchases should be automatically refunded and then disconnected me while trying to contact a customer service agent to verify this. Figures, huh?

Has anyone had this info verified by the npgmc?

HOLY SHIT this is getting more and more hilarious by the minute. This has past the point of even what has happened in the past with Prince's enterprises... and I find it terribly hard to believe that he's thinking this is all good.

Gotta make sure I pack my suitcase full of lol cuz we all gonna need them to get through this week.

if this move is so much of a problem for people then why don't you try to sell your ticket and not go at all or either just go and enjoy the night because everyone knows that Prince is an excellant musician with an excellant band. By the way there are many groups that charge a very high ticket price so stop the crying or stay home!!!

Alright, I've been too harsh and I apologize for that.

But even if there are nightly passes sold, I think they really only have a few. Some members with tickets might coem a day later or leave a day ealier, and then they have some space left.
I agree of course that the whole thing seems to be pretty fucked up (maybe again), but let's see how it all turns out.

Besides, and this is NO excuse for this or ass-kissing, you have to think of this (even if it's hard, especially if you're directly affected): Prince is a musician, sometimes/often a genius. He simply doesn't really care for business things. That is so with many, many creative people, they simply don't feel the need to care about this.
