Sign of the times wasn't worthy of 2 cds!

This album is awesome(except for sound Quality) but it's the shortest double cd ever. If it was a minute shorter it would be one disc. Prince could of put another 79 minutes of music on there. It's annoying that you have to put two discs int he cd player and change to another when one is finished.

Not to mention that CD's weren't very known, at the time. So it WAS a double LP (I think).

I don't remember, I bought the cassette.

CDs were around back then but vinyl was still the main source for music. Prince was trying to fill two vinyl records.

Yeah, them big black CD's that would get snags & play the same clip over & over, until you kicked the player to make it skip the snag.

No, No, No. The CD is on two disc because of the time constraint on the CD's at that time. Today you could get it all on one disc. Maybe if and when they update the sound they will put it all on one disc.

I made my own single disk version of SOTT. It was tricky, because most of the tracks flow into one another with no break whatsoever. I had to shave off 4 seconds of silence at the end of "Adore", and three seconds between "The Cross" and "Beautiful Night" - these are the only places you can edit without losing music, and the CD still clocks in at 79:57.

except that you are just WRONG... in 87 it would not have fit on one CD even if it was 10 mins shorter. sure they could re press it but it would cost more to do than it would be worth.

also keep in mind that most albums at the time were sold on cassesst, then vinal, and then in a distant 3rd was CD.

Anyone remember those Long CD boxes, that they used for store slots? You know, before the plastic lock-em-up version with the alarms in them...

They actually had their own box with artwork.
