Prince' song and Jesse's CD, is there a connection or a story behind it?

The story is Prince said to Jesse you couldn't have an album title like that, without a title track.

So in his friendly, yet over-competitive way, he went and recorded a track of that title, and put it out to local radio. Thus making it appear at first like Jesse had stole Prince's title.

prince could be a real jackass, and yeah, that's the story i heard too. Truth be told, Prince was no longer the hot item at that time pop-wise anyway. Nobody cared but us.
