I decided my next Prince cd for Xmas is going to be THE GOLD EXPERIENCE, cuz I absolutely love PUSSY CONTROL and GOLD...and I love the lyrics and clips of DOLPHIN and THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD.

I haven't heard anymore of it, what are your thoughts on the album

His best album of the 90's. And the last truly great and commercial Prince album.
(I've always felt there's been a certain 'energy' missing from Prince's music
ever since to be honest)

319 should have been a single as far as I'm concerned! Classic funk/rock

Eye Hate U is a beautiful yet tormented seduction epic.

Shy is an underrated gem in my opinion.

Now is a fun little party jam.

We March is the weakest link of an otherwise impressive collection.

an absolutely great album! one of the best 90's discs indeed.

there is an urgency and a drive in the music that has been an

immensely missed part ever since.

'Gold' is sorta like the last real "Prince" record. The production was a little over the top, but listening to that record is like listening to the same Prince I grew up with in the 80s. From Emancipation on, it's been the more laid-back, conservative Prince. And that's cool, but in hindsight 'Gold' is almost like the end of an era.

Quality album by anyones' standards.If there was no NPG operator and a couple of song switches could of been one of the grreatest albums ever.

one question; WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T P INCLUDE THE SINGLE VERSION OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD?

Absolutely, his best album of the 90s. Chocked full of great tunes.

It's a solid pop/rock effort and indeed one of his most enjoyable since at least "SOTT" ("Shhh", for one thing, kicks all kinds of ass); I just think the production is a tad too glossy and the interludes unnecessary.

It is truly a gem. I play it on my ipod at least once a week.It was one of those times where he was really having fun with his music. I certainly take him over Tevin Campbell, when it comes to Shhhh..... I cringe evertime I hear Tevin sing, " I rather do you after school, like some homework". Especially, with what we know now about him.

the come/undertaker/exodus/gold era, but boy did i yearn for it (still do)..

I guess that hard edge to his songs was so refreshing back in
those days that it got addictive very fast. The guitar was off
the scale, and the new power trio churned out tune after tune,
whipping the salivating fans into a frenzy.

this album 2 me was prince at his rawest in the days b4 he found his faith. of course he's always tryin new things, but this album along with "chaos & disorder" was a throwback 2 the days when you had to actually PLAY and SING in order to be called a musician. my fav other tracks on the album are shy, shhh, we march, and i hate u.

I think it was it was his best album since SOTT and I don't think he has released an album since that even comes close to it. I Love this Album. Easily the best of his 90's and it might even be number 5 in my top 5 Prince albums. I would put it behind "1999," "SOTT," "Dirty mind," and "Parade." That is how much I dig this album. I still listen to it all the time. Pussy control, endorphinmachine, Billy Jack Bitch, 319, shy, everything on there is great.

Every single song on there is golden. That includes We March(I don't get why peops trip on this one). His best album in my opinion.

Great album. I don't care for We March anymore than the next guy, but that crappy version of TMBGITW is what pisses me off. I haven't heard the good version since it was on the radio.

The Gold Experience is one of his best albums.

I play this CD once a week I love the NPG operator and the way
whole album was arranged
