please note i never said prince was going to be working with the girls..i simply stated that prince seems to be looking at things to get him excited about his work again.
i also base this on direct comments wendy made that i was privy too during the largo shows. it was obvious to me that she was throwing a musical challenge his way. and are you the tigger who is always telling people they dont know what prince's motives are? so why now within this discussion are you flip-flopping? LOVEandLIGHT said: Prince's next album could very well be #1.
Musicology debuted #3 with only one concert added to the sales. If that one concert hadn't been added, he still would have debuted at #3 on Billboards Top 200 Albums Chart. So that goes to show that he still is capable of selling a cool 100-200,000 copies in his first week. The only thing is, he would need to promote, promote, promote and have a killer single...A pop-friendly single! The song doesn't have to be an instant hit...because alot of artist are releasing shitty lead singles and still go to #1. With Prince...he's already got the name, his entire career to look back on...how much success and how many hits he's had...People will flock to the stores to buy it...if there is a strong BUZZ! For example!!! Premiere the first single on a highly rated show. Perform the single on a highly rated show. Release the video to Mtv, VH1, BET and all the other music tv networks -the following week with much hype! Appear on Mtv T-R-L to air the video. Throw a big prime time bash and televise it (internet also)...remember the "EMANCIPATION" Broadcast...but before that...go on NBC Dateline with Matt Lauder (an old friend)...Talk about the success of Purple Rain in 1984 and the success of Musicology in 2004...showing clips from the sold out shows and fan mania. Also talk about his new found happiness in L.A. with wife Manuela...The New Music and the future of Prince. *Oprah -play 2 new songs and 1 previous hit! *Good Morning America -Performs new single! *Dave Letterman -1st time Interview;plus a performance! *Play some clubs in L.A & NYC (surprise gigs)! *Jay Leno -Interview & Performance! *Cover Story for Rolling Stone Magazine! *Commericials air for the new album on Radio & TV! *NPGMC Listening Party! (Open to the public) All this before the album is released and I gurantee a #1 album! Man you really covered all the bases. I agree with everything you said. It's too bad that Donnie Simpson and video soul isn't still around. I would say he should go on there too. www.newpowerdetroit.com Insatible Saturday 12/10/05

...which was quite akin to just that. i also base this on direct comments wendy made that i was privy too during the largo shows. it was obvious to me that she was throwing a musical challenge his way.
you can only hope that it indeed was. it doesn't mean that it was so. and are you the tigger[dead-stopped here because everything else said after this point was immediately rendered not worth reading...]

i'm in the midwest, man. if perhaps i were at the largo with you that night, i'd take yer word for it. 2) yes....its my hope..all of this is IMHO.
and perhaps because i don't denote any of what i've said with "imo" or any variant of the sort it makes my remarks "the truth", then? you don't need to have constant denotations at the end of your posts...if you're keeping up with whatever's being said you should be able to discern one thing from another. 3) yes, tigger.. IE: [bouncy guy was here][/quote] regardless, it was still too close and i didn't take kindly to it.

he could, but not for himself. Prince isn't Madonna, she's got massive money in the bank. Prince should stick to staying out of charts.

Anything is possible.Pop music is totally unpredictable.Look what happened in 1999....Santana came out of nowhere and sold 25 million albums.Cher came out of nowhere, sold 10 million albums, and had the year's biggest hit single ("Believe").You just never know.
