Deuteronomy (sp?) 31:21

21Then great disasters will come down on them, and this song will stand as evidence against them, for it will never be forgotten by their descendants. I know what these people are like, even before they have entered the land I swore to give them."

Maybe Mani has a point?

They cite the "New World Translation". The "New Living Translation", is, to my mind, the most balanced and easy-to-read translation for anyone not comfortable or experienced in reading The Bible.

I wonder if "world trans" has "song" in it still. That does make is sound Prince-ly.

Aren't there a lot of books in bible that 31:21 could refer to. Why have you chosen Deuteronomy in particular?

It is the only one that mentions music... "This SONG will stand as evidence"

Oh, well, with rock solid evidence like that...

Prince painted 5:5 on his forehead for the Cinnamon Girl video, and that passage didn't mention music - instead, it was assumed to be from the book of Matt, something about the meek and inheriting stuff.

yeah but that was too easy since he mentions "Matt 5:5 say....."
on Dear Mr Man.

this Deuteronomy 31:21 thing was actually posted by me first when
the number appeared for the very first time.

i don't know where i got the idea, i think it was something to do
with an Xfiles episode mentioning a bible verse 3:19 or something
and it just really made sense when i put that one next to the cut
from The Gold Experience.

so somehow i did some searches and came up with Deuteronomy 31:21

it's funny though to see that more people came up with this idea
back in the day (even on ugh npgm ugh c) and now, once again some
people are making this link.

strange. that's all. i don't think it has much meaning though. it
is always the same with Prince. it never ends up being what youve
been thinking it would be.
