The Gold Experience This album was the first Prince album that my wife heard other than 80s and early 90s releases on radio, and it really got her hooked. What album got you obsessed enough to come to this site? Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

I was obsessed when "Purple Rain" came out. Unfortunately, I was too young to get into Prince's music before then.
I found this site a couple of years ago, but didn't really come here on a regular basis until the past year or so.

I too love The Gold Experience - however - there was not 1 album that got me to come to this site - it is being a hardcore, 4ever dedicated Prince fan that brought me to this site !!!

it is the symbol of total transformation. Butterfly represents a need for change and greater freedom, and at the same time it represents courage: one requires courage to carry out the changes

I got Diamonds & Pearls when I was little boy but it was The Hits/The B-Sides that hooked me to explore deeper. That and other mid 90s releases...

At purple rain. I was 13/14 buying my first singles alone and for the first time really interested in music. Prince is the only star i 'adored' (then) ,so also the first.
For the record my first own musicsingle ever was YMCA from the village people. At the time of Gold experience my fanhood was still OK but weakening . But it never left me. Here i am.

Love it. It ages very well. Listened to it in the car the other day during a 5 hour drive. It tends to interest "non-fans" as well.
