Extended versions of album tracks.

So. What are your faves?

Is it Raspberry Beret because of that cutesy cough Prince drops?
Is it Let's Go Crazy cuz of it's cool breaks?
Is it America cuz it is so dead-ass long?
Or do you go for the foot on the rock on Anotherloverholenyohead?

Let me start.

A few always catch my fancy somewhat more than others.

First up the remix of Paisley Park. Them beach sounds, the really silly giggling of W&L (?) in the beginning. That guitar solo, maybe a bit dull compared to the ripping solo's we're used to, but SO totally fitting.

Second, indeed; Anotherloverholenyohead. The extended version gets the space the album version missed, esp the intro. So amazing. A year later he made the same mistake with Sheila Escovedo's Koo Koo; cut an album version too short and then drop an amazing extended version.

Third; Pop Life, the extended version, not Sheila E's Dance Remix. I love the fact that it is the actual song and you can hear Prince cut it back to fit on the album. So, to me, this is the REAL Pop Life, in it's full genius

The unreleased hella-long "Computer Blue." I thought it was pretty cool of the I guess you could say "breakdown" with the drums, I don't know how to explain it, but it was in Purple Rain seperate from the soundtracks.

Most of us are older than friggin' dirt (in fact, it is a little known fact that dirt was my idea! I actually suggested it to God around day two of creation or so!), so we all got this stuff when it was originally released in the 80s and 90s.

Yeah, I remember those days. I couldn't wait for new new single to be released because I knew I'd get an extended mix of the single AND a B-side!!!!

Those were the days.

There are so many good ones.

Let's work
Little red Corvette
Let's go crazy
Pop life (I wasn't aware the UK mix was different until I won the UK 12" on E-bay!)
Paisley park
Anotherloverholenyohead
Glam slam
Partyman (I like the video mix best)
Scandalous
The future
Thieves in the temple
My name is Prince
I hate u
Face down

There are so many others I just love. I collect his 12" vinyl records as the main part of my Prince collection. Some people here made fun of me for paying over $100.00 for the 12" of "Sexy dancer" but it was so worth it!

If we're talking b-sides remixes then I love these ones:

Another lonely Christmas
Hello
Alexa De Paris
Scarlet pussy
Feel u up
Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.
