Batman Soundtrack - Underrated Why do so many Prince fans hate Batman soundtrack. Personally this is one of my favourite albums. It was my first Prince album!! Apart from the stinkarse Arms of Orion, every song is cool, especially Electric Chair, Vicki Waiting, Partyman, Scandalous and Batdance.
What especially baffles me is why everyone hates Lemon Crush and Trust so much?? Without being patronising to any org friends, I think that there is a snobbery towards movie soundtracks in general, e.g. Queens "Flash Gordon" and "Highlander" Soundtracks, which in my opinion were great records. I wonder if this is the reason why it is generally hated. What is everyones opinion on this?? | |

one of my faves. take 'arms of orion' off it and tack on a couple of the mixes and b-sides after the end of the album, and it's one of my ABSOLUTE faves. | |

I like Girl 6, and to be honest I haven't dug Batman out since, well since Batman.....and I don't plan on it either.

Batman was my first P album & what got me in2 him ..... Batdance is amazing , it is just totally fuckin awesome , Vicki waiting is still 1 of my favourite songs ever as is scandalous , electric chair ,partyman & lemon crush ..... are all top class ..... trust is decent & apart from ..... as u put it stinkarse Arms of Orion it has got 2 b 1 of the greatest soundtracks ever (the music fits so well in2 the film) & a great P album in its own right  Live4Love

I love lemon crush.....I think the production of that song is quite tight....music/lyrics fit together like hand/glove.....Vicki Waiting....very good song and summary of Joker/Vicki "relationship" and gives good insight to just how crazy the Joker was...Trust is another really tight production...i think it's flawless, the subject matter completely relevant to the storyline of the movie.....Partyman c'mon guys that track is just plain fun and, also if you knew how he was inspired to write that one you would totally agree!! Ummm, Arms of Orion....well I'll confess i used to love cheesy lite/adult contemparary music stations
Batdance..what can I say fun music, one of the best videos in his career! I never really dug Scandelous/Sex Suite.....Kim Basinger's whimpering in the background makes me wanna puke 
The Future/Electric Chair nice hard rockin' tracks and I really like the lyrics...I think that concept albums are really a good idea for someone old-school like Prince....we know the best albums are concept ones and no one....barely even Prince/Stevie does them anymore... It's okay. It's grown on me over the years.
It sounds really weak and mediocre when put in the context of a decade that had so many masterpieces from him, but it fares better now that some of his weak 90's material has seen the light of day. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

eye saw Tim Burton's BATMAN yesterday, and i love the album, strange to watch the movie, when u heard the album so many times, since prince used the movies dialog in the songs, i really like that,,, nice mystic batman moods.... 'Who R U' 'Vicki Vale - Vicki Vale', 'It's The Batman'hehe, Jack nicholson's laugh cracks me up!! hilarious-The Beautiful Ones
