Honestly now- I have to admit he taught me an awful lot about effective background harmony vocals, just from listening to his stuff. I use some of that knowledge now when I arrange vocals for my music.

And I suppose I learned some unfortunate truths about the music business partly from his rants and raves in the 90s.

He told me to pay attention in case Jesus walks into the room. Seriously.

Prince has taught me to enjoy and recognize real music from real musicians. He has helped me to understand what real musical talent is.
