Prince and Kylie had a short romantic interlude back in the early 90s... at the time Kylies career was goin nowhere, it was at that time Kylie changed her image to the sexy madonna like style which rocketed her to world fame under the guidance of Prince... have heard that he did contribute to a song or 2 for her as well as restructuring her entire image and career

he wrote a song called Baby Doll for her.

she started to change her image starting with the Song Better THe Devil You Know which is her trademark song from 1990 under the encourgement of Michael Hutcence the lead singer of INXS. She states him as the biggest influence in taking control of her image and carear.

Kylie claimed there was no romance between the two. She said Prince got fresh but she didn't want to be another notch.

i'm glad that some of you got a laugh out of my comments about Prince and Kylie... as an Aussie who has seen Kylies career from early childhood i can tell you that befor she was seen with Prince her career was goin nowhere !! after the initial success of "i could be so lucky" and her duet with jason from nieghbours she basically became a laughing stock in Australia and was seen as someone only nerds and children were interested in !!, it was after bein seen with Prince and numerous articles about them bein seen 2gether that her career took a dramatic turn for the better, ALSO in an interview on local Aussie tv when asked about her dramatic return to stardom she stated she had a good "friend" offer suggestions on how she could develope her singing career, it was around that time that Prince was goin through the name change and when asked in an interview what he wanted people to call him he stated "i would hope they call me friend" !! coincidence...!! also Micheal Hutchence was oh so big on helping to promote female singers as sex sirens...NOT !! some people need to understand theres more to things than what they may read in a magazine !!

read any bio or any interview of Kylie or for that matter pick up LA LA LA written by Kylie and William Baker and they say it was the influence of Michael and don't even mention Prince. I think Kylie knows how it all came about better than anyone. Better The Devil You Know was written by SAW because they wanted her to still date Jason Donovon and not go out with Michael. Prince didn't come into the picture until after she had left SAW/PWL. Sexed Up Kylie started wtih BTDYK and went through the Let's Get To It Tour which was after the break up with Michael. Let's Get To It was released in 91 and was the last PWL record.
I'm sorry but Kylie's legend is from the UK, she just got her start in Oz.

You know so much about her you can't even get the title of the single right!

As for the part about being a laughing stock and music for kids and nerds after 'Especially For You' - Geez, it was music for kids and gay men from the start, she was SAW's biggest act, and that was SAW's audience.

The whole name-change thing was way after any work they did together, i.e. Baby Doll.

let's not forget that her carear went way way down with Kylie Minogue 94 and Impossible Princess. Which were for sure after she met Prince. It wasn't until her return to her pop roots in 2000 almost a decade after she met and hung out for a bit with Prince that she became sucessful again.

I just listened to a sample on iTunes yesterday of Confide In Me - for me, this one song was Kylie's artistic peak...

Anyway, I think he also wrote another song for her called Sex On Legs (perhaps coincidentally, Robbie Williams wrote a song called Sexed Up for her, that she also rejected - he ended up releasing it on his Escapology album that came out soon before Musicology).

True enough, although KM94 and IP are her best albums IMO, along with Light Years which was a pop masterpiece. cool

i don't think you know what you are talking about, but that's ok.
three points. Kylie moved to the UK in the late 80s. only goes back to visit family since than. She had one song released in OZ before she went to record with SAW. SAW is responsible for turing her into a musical act. i think you should catch up on your Kylie info. plus Willie and Kylie never mention Prince in La La La. i believe them more than i believe you.

i'm American.

Prince has limited involvement with Madonna. one duet and playing guatiar on two tracks. they dated for a bit, but he has no hand in shaping Madonna or her image, in fact at times he has said some pretty negative things about her only to turn around and ask for her help to get his masters back.

please check your facts before you posting like you know the truth.

READ THINGS PROPERLY PLEASE BEFOR ADDING YOUR 2 cent WORTH, what i said was it changed dramatically for the better after beein seen with prince and her stage image changed and she started concentrating on the "sexy" image, anyway i heard what i heard and i saw what i saw, and alot of fellow Aussie Prince fans i talk to are of the same oppinion i'm sure you get heaps of Aussie tv there in the states !! half the Americans i speak to think we have kangaroos jumping down our main streets and koala bears sit on telegraph poles in the city...
anyway glad to know all you Americans and poms are such experts on Aussie celebs and what goes on in our country...

Ah ha ha ha If you have ever read anything about her which by the sounds of it no you would know that she actually has commented herself on the subject as the time she grew up, Micheal introduce her to wild sex, night clubs and heavy drug taking, also having meet the girl in a club a few times and seen her show at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras i can tell you nothing about her at that time was about being in control, she was just lucky enough to sleep with the right people then to change her from geek to a gay club queen.
