The "1999" Tour Somebody shed some light on this particular era. When it comes to tour discussions, Lovesexy, Sign 'O' the Times, and Nude are usually guaranteed to be brought up. But 1999 always seem to receive only a tiny mention or no mention at all, sometimes. Care to share? I'm curious. Ooh, little darlin' if you're

It is because he never took that show beyond the US.
So Europeans feel left out. I certainly do. Same with Musicology Tour. SOD the Musicology Tour.

Man, it's a 1999 Triple Threat Tour thread running right now. But uh, my guess is because a lot of orgers weren't old enough to be hip to P during this time, so they can't releate to it. That's why u see so much love given to Sign and LoveSexy, mainly cuz folks were a little older by then. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

It's really simple. The biggest tours will be talked about more because more people went to those concerts. It's really not that complicated, is it? Repo Man's got all night, every night.

Depends on how you define the term "biggest". Behind Purple Rain it's Prince's most extensive tour, so I think the term "biggest" would apply to the 1999 Tour. In terms of actual people seeing the shows, we would certainly be talking in excess of 600,000 people witnessing the shows - again making it one of the "biggest" concerts. Although admittedly NOT on the scale of the Purple Rain attendances, it is still a tidy amount of people.

Back when the long version of "Little Red Corvette" first came out, I couldn't find the 12 Inch in the record stores anywhere so I had the record store to order a 12 Inch import from London, thinking it would be the remix. When it came, it was only the album version on one side and "Automatic" and "International Lover" on the other side. Anyway, on the back cover of the import, it says.... "London Dates: Prince will be appearing at The Dominion on 18th & 19th April" I have no idea if he ever appeared but it is printed on the back of that import. Andy is a four letter word.

April 5th 1983 in Denver CO was my first time seeing Prince live on the 1999 tour. I got the ticket for my 11th birthday from my brother and what a show it was. I remember it being very loud and the place was packed to the rafters. The Time was AMAZING and when my brother let me pick something to buy I wanted the poster of The Time. I still have it to they're standing against a chainlink and it's just the players of the Time, no Jerome. I'll never forget the VIBE in the venue that night, pure Prince magic.
