could Musicology have been Prince's last album?

after looking at the latest list of albums to be released going all the way until spring of 2006 and nothing about a new Prince album i was thinking maybe Prince wanted to go out on top with the success of Musicology...i mean he's done it all and now maybe wants to kick back and enjoy life...but from what we know (or think we know) of Prince recording is his relaxation but i dont think its totally far fetched that Musicology could have been his swan song
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

shrug Man, I have no idea at this point, I don't know what he's up to. Back in March, we were hearing all about "3121" and it seemed like a new album/project was about to drop...here it is November and nothing has come of it. Or of the various other rumored releases. Maybe the little shake-up on NPGMC and the bigger news about demolishing his MN home mean something is imminent? confuse

I don't believe Musicology was planned to be any sort of swan song. Check out the Rolling Stone article from March 2004 (when he was on the cover). In it, Londell said that going forward, Prince would emphasize live performance, but that music (namely albums) would also be released, sometimes independently, sometimes by teaming up with a big label. But who knows, maybe Prince changed his mind (again). biggrin nod

I hope it isnt his last album, but i wouldnt mind if he decided to take a break for a few years.
His next album would then probably have a lot of hype attached to it and would probably be appreciated more.

god knows he deserves a break.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

cool Prince puts out albums lately depending on his mood it seems. I do not think Musicology is his last one though. He will release something i think before 2007.

Sooner than we might expect:

According to the IMDb Prince is one of the two composers of the original music to The Lake House.

First time I've heard of this. But is this going to be new music, or could it mean they're just using some of his previously released material?

By the way, wasn't there a rumor early this year about him doing the soundtrack for some other movie? Can't remember the details, I'd have to do some searching.

Same movie - the title was changed.
My guess is he has done a song for this movie
& he won't release a new cd until after the soundtrack
from this movie is released.
The movie has a release date of Feb 3rd, 2006 but that could change.

Don't be silly. The man loves music too much, it's the be all and end all of his life, he'll be making music until his dying day.

After many experiemntal albums Musicology is a return to his commercial type stuff, he's just kicking back whilst he considers his next move.
