I’ve been back to this forum for 3 or 4 weeks now after a long absence and I must say that it’s in far better shape than it was a couple of years ago.

There's such a delicate balance on these Internet forums, and I certainly don’t envy the job the moderators have.

Without proper moderation, in just a matter of weeks a discussion forum can easily go from fertile and inspirational to lowest common denominator.

And about 2 years ago or so it would seem the balance had swung greatly in favor of the obsessed portion of the fan base.

The obsessed are made up of those that idolize Prince and those that once did.

Needless to say this doesn’t make for scintillating discussion. It’s about as much fun as listening to alcoholics in denial battle it out with recovering alcoholics.

I must say that I’ve been most impressed with the intelligence, humor, top-notch writing skills and great wit that Anxiety uses in both his moderating duties and contributions here.

You can’t please everyone, but I hope this site realizes what a great asset it has and that people don’t chase him away.

I do believe that's the sweetest thing I've heard in quite a long time. I think you may be a bit too kind, but you surely made my day. Thank you for your very nice words. smile

I've been a member of the org since May 1999, the black and purple days (anyone remember them?) and to me this site has been a rollercoaster ride. I agree with most here when they say that things were worst here a couple of years ago. A lot of arguments on petty shit and people knocking others for liking and disliking Prince and his output and I will admit to helping out in those threads. But the one thing I've love about the org is that you can have your views and leave it at that. People will criticize but you won't get censored (unless it gets real offensive). I've said it in other threads and I'll say it again, we don't have to like what Prince has done or is doing and STILL be a fan. I really didn't think you could do that, especially the way some people here would talk about him, but we are all different plus it's the internet. Most of us have never met face to face but we all have the same bond that unites us here.

This site has improved a lot since they revamped it in early 04 and I want to give props to all the mods who take care of the site. I'm sure it's super exhausting to do this but thank goodness that you do. Your works are not in vain, believe me. Thank you for all that you do and God Bless each of you. Here's to many more years of prince.org!
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

It's already stolen, I ripped it off from someone else! wink Maybe we could do a time-share or something.
