MINNEAPOLIS 94EAST VS Manhouse

2 jazz albums by Prince.Prince very first album was jazz before signing with a major label. some of u may not even know that Prince was a jazz musician before his funk days began.I believe the madhouse album was a tribute to his jazz roots.

Snap

well, Prince's parents were jazz musicians, so yeah, i'd say he was very much influenced by it. actually, his early Studio 80 jam sessions with Andre and Bobby show a lot more jazz influence than Pepe's 94East which had very little input from Prince

if you like Madhouse, and haven't already, check out Prince's albums Xpectation, N.E.W.S., and The Rainbow Children, among a large assortment of other tunes -- they're not only tributes to his jazz roots, but expressions of who he truly is (when not writing for pop radio)
