Prince's NEW GUITAR -- the T5

Supposedly Prince has been jamming on it quite a bit this year.

As reported by Taylor Guitars, "Prince’s longtime guitar tech and liaison, Takumi Suetsugu, recently e-mailed Bob Borbonus to report that Prince has been enjoying his purple T5. “He has used it on most of the stuff we’ve done since we got it,” Takumi said. “He doesn’t even change guitars; he just turns on the distortion pedal, changes pickups, and goes. It has made my gig easier. Thank you, thank you, thank you. [The T5] rocks.”

Picture this in PURPLE...

I guess that might be a clue, right there

Woo hoo! I love Musician's Friend, by the way. Tons of stuff, and it's located in my hometown. Here's more info on the guitar...

The T5 may be the only axe you need. The T5 with a select figured maple top, intricate abalone fretboard inlays, and gold hardware.

A resonant, fully hollow thinline body is the backbone of the T5. Its comfort and playability is unquestionable, with the performance freedom of a solidbody and the feel and sound of a beloved Taylor acoustic. Whether played through an electric or acoustic amp, it delivers a fantastic range of pure tones from smooth, strumming acoustic to crunchy electric chords.

Electronics include a unique 5-way pickup system composed of a magnetic acoustic humbucker, magnetic electric humbucker, and a single Dynamic Body Sensor soundboard pickup, as well as a preamp system for mixing up the exact tone you need. Full binding, bone nut and saddle, stylized F-holes, a mahogany neck, sapele body, and an ebony fretboard and headstock overlay are standard.

I only see one pickup. I guess the others are inside the body?

Prince is diggin' the Taylors. He played a different one for the acoustic sets on the Musicology tour. They sure is purty.

Does Prince know that the guitar features a harvested bone nut and abalone inlays? He's gonna go to Hell fer sure...

Doesn't look that spectaculair to me, sorry, but Prince needs something more flashy!!! (Maybe it's the sound that will convince me why he uses this piece of wood now ...)

Thanks for the news!!!!!

Looks damn great! And BTW, the Hohner is anything but flashy and that's his signature guitar. At least for his fans.
