Should Graffiti Bridge be considered a horror movie? IN GD, I have brought up the fact that I want to show a horror movie in my Freshmen seminar class on Monday to celebrate Halloween. I probably am going to show "Night of the Living Dead" but I was wondering about people would consider Graffiti Bridge to be a horror movie.
Here are the reasons I could classify it as such and therefore show it to class: 1) Creepy setting-That backlot/Paisley Park soundstage is downright spooky. It seems to be abandoned and then, late at night, the funkateers come out to one of the various nightclubs. Are there any daytime shots in GB? 2) Ghost story-The Kid is haunted by the image of his dead father (who actually appeared to be fine at the end of Purple Rain but whatever) 3) Scene of mass hypnosis- The "Elephants and Flowers" scene, where zombified clubbers have a mass orgy in front of master svengali Prince can only be described as disturbing. (It would have been even more disturbing had P let TC rap though) 4) Scary invincible villian-Morris as Jason Voorhees/Michael Myers. Shows superhuman strength by eating a really hot pepper. 5) Trolls-Aura lives under a bridge...much like a scary troll! 6) Deadly dancing-Whatever the hell dance Prince was doing during the "Tick, Tick, Bang" sequence...frightening. 7 Back from the dead-Aura, who we think is an angel, is hit by a jeep and comes back from the dead...AS A FEATHER! Scary as all get out! My point is made...GB may be one of the scariest movies of all time. Dance, my demons of the night. Dance! All good things they say never last...

yeah, ingrid chavez made a record for paisley park around that time...it was pretty cheesy (go figure), but it was actually really nice musically...very "quiet storm" meets cocteau twins...think proto-trip-hop, only without giving prince that much credit for innovation. that's what it sounds like. it's way out of print now, but it's not exactly one of the more sought after paisley park titles, so i'm sure you can find it on eBay or gemm.com at a reasonable price.

Thank you, Anxiety. I appreciate that heads-up. You wouldn't happen to know if Appolonia has a daughter age 18+ would you? It's been my biggest dream since the 4th grade.

It's a comedy. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
