Angry Prince vs Happy Price........or Contented Prince vs Discontented Prince.
If you listen to Prince's music it does seem like to at least a number of Prince fans that he's done his best music when he's the unhappiest or should I say more edgy, livlier or more intense. I wanna know what do you guys think? Is this the case or just perception? The happy period would be mainly me thinking about all the emancipation tracks. They seem well enough and I do like a bunch of songs on the album but other than the ballads to Mayte they just seem punchless somewhat. Meanwhile, if you check tracks where he's lonely/unhappy/or dissappointed in his friends/ex-friends like the original Old Friends for Sale for instance its seen by a lot of us as one of his greatest tracks released or not but in that song he's lamenting betrayal or perceived betrayal by those he trusted but still that seems like such an emotional and heartfelt track. So what do you guys think? Does happy Prince = not as good or as powerful or as edgy music and miserable unhappy Prince = great tunes?, or do some of us just think that? "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

There's evidence that he makes great music whether happy or mad...to me it probably
it's more relevent if he's properly inspired.

I think any artist writes better songs when anry or miserable
There are a few exceptions of course , like Adore fe [Edited 10/25/05 4:04am]
