coolcat

There's the Camille voice (tho that uses effects)... and I think the screams(like in WDC or Beautiful Ones) can count for another voice.

I don't think Prince sings at the bass range but can sing within the baritone range

Certainly tenor and alto (countertenor or falsetto) ranges
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I always saw prince as a baritone who has a great falsete, it's very common but what is incredible is the way he controls his voice, he is a virtuoso singer that surpassed all his natural vocal limitations.

all his special voices:

the dirty old man voice (as in the video of 'come on')
the 'morris day' voice (as in 'chloreen baconskin')
the low God voice ('temptation'/'Bob George')
the Ray Charles voice (as on 'God' on the Purple Rain tour rehearsal tapes)
he even imitated mick jagger on 'Miss You'

Sorry 4 the double post....why didnt appear what I wrote?....therefore, nevermind, im gonna 2 repeat.....

I think that Prince is a great Baritone with the ability 2 sing as Tenor (Solo). I like his falsetto.....

I love Prince voice bcuz is warm, relaxing and sexy....I like when he speaks using the low voice as he was pretending 2 b Barry White..... wink wink wink

It ranges from a moderate growl such as on When Doves Cry, anormal voice which has quite a high register. Various falsetto, the Camille Voice (speeded up) Spooky Electric Bob George (slowed down) and joke voices such as the waiter in Chili Sauce on Ice cream castles.
Prince can also do a black and a white voice.(U got the lok, Ladies and gentlemen, a dream we all dream of)

He's the master of voices, but when u hear him sing, u always know its him. ASuch as in Love thy will be done, Where she goes No more I can resist (NOOOO!) The guiding light (GUIDING LIGHT) etc. and in Love Song, his guesting voice is very 'soulful'

Add to this mix soul shrieks and screams that added to a Prince vocal in ANY register.
