This is wild.
I used 2 live in D.C. (from '94 to '99) and Mya used 2 come into the music store I worked at... Chuck Levin's Wahington Music Center. At that time, her and her dad were looking for tracks (as her dad put it). She was very cool, shy, petite, and eighteen. Of course we had no idea she would blow up like she did. After she got the deal, before she was even on radio, tv, etc, she came in and gave us copies of the video she just made. That was "All About Me"... When we watched it, we were all shocked at what a body she had, and how she was dressed, considering all we saw her in before was sweats. She was very down-to-earth. I even worked on a remix of "All About Me", but I don't think that remix was released. Ahhh... I miss the D.C. days. I was also on Prince's guest list for D.C. shows, because of Rhonda. I knew Rhonda from her days using the Warwick basses. She switched to Lakland, in part, because they are lighter than Warwick's, which are typically heavy. What is odd, is that she's been using the Fender American Deluxe Jazz basses recently, and they are slightly heavy. Anyway... there was no NPGMC member will-call ticket thang going on then, so people would be looking at you at the will-call booth, like, "yeah... sure you're on the guest-list"... One time, in Baltimore, I had to call Rhonda on her cell phone because they didn't have my name at the window. She fixed it, called me back, and then at the window they were like, "Oh here you are, Mr. Diorio... You're all set. we're sorry". "He's a musician's musician..."

If U R talking about Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center, it's not a record store. It's one of the biggest musical instrument stores in the US... Y'know... Guitars, Basses, Keyboards, Pro Sound, Drums, etc, etc. Peace though. G. "He's a musician's musician..."
