You don't own Prince. None of us do. To me Prince has artistically been dead for years now, but I'm thankful for all the great music he released over the years which will last me a lifetime. Prince doesn't owe you shit.

Last I checked Prince hasn't said anything on record about anything related to this.

Still some have managed to take a blurb in a tabloid as a means to dissect what they speculate to be Prince's innermost thoughts and feelings. That is scary.

I am one of the most liberal and open minded people that you will ever meet. However, I don't tell anyone how to live their life and I be damned if anyone is going to tell me how to live mine. I don't like judgemental people and I turn the tables and become judgemental against the judgemental ones. If it's wrong....well, who cares? Fight fire with fire. When Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door, I open the door and say "Nobody's home". If they didn't think that everyone else is "wrong" and they are the only ones that are "right", they wouldn't be coming to people's doors and preaching to them. If I want to be preached to, I will go to church. In other words, I will go to you if that's what I want, don't you bring your ass to me.

As far as Prince is concerned, that's a different story. I could care less if he worships a head of lettuce. When I buy a Prince album, I know he's a Jehovah's Witness and I know he might possibly preach on the album. He has every right to because it is his album and his freedom of speech. I'm the one that chose to buy it and he didn't force me to buy it. When I buy an album, I buy it for the funk. Prince can preach all he wants to but it will be going in one of my ears and out the other because the music is what I'm listening to and I can easily tune all that other bullshit out.

Do I wish that he wasn't a Jehovah's Witness? Of course I do because I can't think of a more judgemental group of stuffshirts that I have ever seen. However, it's his life, not mine.

thumbs up! I couldn't fucking agree more !

U can definately listen 2 his music without taken that religous bullshit in .

"With the accurate understanding of God and His law
they went about the work of building a new nation:
the Rainbow Children.

"The Wise One who understood the law
that was handed down from God long ago
reflected the true meaning 2 his woman every day.
And she surrendered her discerning of it into his care and keeping
4 she trusted he would lead in the right way.
Her children in subjection 2 her, and she in subjection 2 the Wise One.
The Wise One in subjection 2 the only Begotten One.

"And 4ever is in subjection 2 God."

That entire album is full of things like that. There's a ton of stuff like that to be found on other albums. Stuff like "God is love, love is God" from Anna Stesia. Or how about the song God?

In the beginning, there was God
He made the earth and the heavens
He gave us light 2 rule the day
And another light 2 rule the night
The Lord, thy God
He made, He made the seas
He made the fruit upon the tree

Do you even really listen to his songs?

I didn't say all his songs are religious now, did I? You said you can listen to his songs without taking in his religious bullshit ("so just sit back & enjoy the sound of his guitar & 4get about the religion side of it as that really dont fuckin matter as long as u r liking the Music ..... does it ??") I asked you if that also counted for the songs in which he's singing about it and then you asked for examples. Examples are just that, example, not a complete list.

I don't care if you love or hate those songs, I'm just saying that the lyrics of, for example, TRC ruin the songs for some people.

Well I was only wishing it was a prank, All true pop stars have imitators and impersonators, not to mention all the people out there who almost feel like they were separated at birth from their idol. In their defense, stars are designed to be someone people long for and/or long to be.

Yes.
Many folks on here continue to preach peace and love and even go as far as signing off with it. In essence, its an attempt to justify judgemental, emotional, and just plain callous responses. We are ALL hypocrites in our own little ways.
