forever in my life

what is the main vocal? because i only ever follow the twin line that comes in after the first (which is behind in the lyrics). this leaves the first part seeming like an ad lib when they are overlapping.

maybe im reading too much into the structure. there is no real melody in the twin vocal line but it just butts in, grabing attention. not bad for a song 18 years old.

I always sing that one in my big "oh lordy pick a bale of cotton" slave on the plantation voice. I dunno why. Mabye I think I'm a cross between Steve Martin and Prince. I mean when Steve Martin used to be black. He was alot funnier then.

All I know is I like the S.O.T.T movie version way better then the one on the album. Bonnie Boyer tears it up! (I wonder what she's doing now?)Sheila E, Levi Seacer and Bonnie sound excellent on background vocals, And that brother with the big fur Russian hat was looking too cool when he came struttin' with the two women on his arm.

Bonnie passed away, I'm not sure when and from what. I'm sure someone else can post details for you.

love2 I LOVE the SOTT version--how he transitions into IT. And when he does the screams--Sheila is cracking up! I really like the look of the guitar, too. So cute with the heart on it. I might go watch it right now! love The version from Small Club is awesome too. I wish I had a video of that! Boni tears it up in that version as well. She died of a brain aneurysm, I believe. pray
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Apparently the vocal tracks ended up off kilter as the result af a sort of happy accident during mixing. Very cool.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
