Aerogram said: Of course. Prince and Holland have a lot in common :
Prince wears pumps that make him look taller. Holland is the land of wooden shoes, which make most people look taller. It is said that without lesbian duo Wendy and Lisa, Prince would not have worked so well in the eighties. The same can be said of Holland if it had no dykes. Prince is famous for breaking the rules of the industry. Dedicated bootleg affecionados in Holland are famous for breaking the rules of Prince. Prince posed naked on a flower. Some people in Holland have done it naked in the tulips. [Edited 10/8/05 13:23pm] RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Back in 1988, I went to a prince concert in 'de kuip' in Rotterdam. I was going by train to the concert and I had to change over trains in Rotterdam Central. Appearantly, we were not the only ones.A lot of people wore white clothes with black spots/dots or black clothes with white spots/dots. They were rushing to the same train I was. I never saw such a bunch of crowd ever. Once we were on the same platform, it looked awesome. Everybody with the most outragious clothes, shoes, make up or whatever. We were having our own party on the station.
When we arrived at 'de kuip', I saw 40.000 people, all dressed like Prince. That was amazing. Nobody forgot to wear 'appropiate' clothes. During the Lovesexy-era, Prince was definately huge in Holland. I think he was bigger during that period than in 1984, the Purple Rain-time. Nowadays, as said before, most people only care about Trance, R n B, Hip Hop and F####ckin Coldplay. However, there are still a bunch of hardcore fans out here and of course, we are his most devoted fans.
