That is why P is taking his time. After coming off such a banner year he can't make any mistakes.

Why would Sony care? He's not contracted to them or anything. He's got his own download store where he can release whatever he wants. Prince made a squillion dollars in 2004, so the ball's in his court as to what to do next. Musicology was a win-win situation for both Prince and Sony. If he decided to release Musicology 2 then I'm sure they would be interested, but chances are his next project will be a little different, not something for the mainstream. He has a history of releasing challenging albums straight after successfull commercial albums (ie. ATWIAD after Purple Rain, after D&P etc).

Bet Sony is a major player for distribution or his lp would be out now.

Prince is about the $$, he's a business man also.
