Prince - royalties Does anyone have any idea how much Prince makes off of royalties? Just curious... I remember seeing a Sting interview ages ago, and he was making a crapload of money just from royalties. | |

I think a crapload sounds about right.
He'd make even more if he'd kiss and make up with Warners.  He could repackage his stuff every few years ala Bowie, Elvis Costello and The Rolling Stones, not to mention re-releasing/re-mastering The Family, Appolonity 12, Jill Jones, Madhouse etc.
The Stones and Beatles have put out CD packages of their singles. Shit... Prince could do that with his 12" extended's and we'd all touch ourselves in bad places right in line at the register. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

Bowie sold total rights to all his future royalties for certain amount of money up front. He isnt making any money from it personaly anymore
