Unreleased albums

Hi.

I was wondering if you could help me out with some info. I want to know more about Prince’s complete unreleased albums (ones that were sequenced etc). On my list so far I’ve got…

Live LP (I read that Prince made a live album of either a Dirty mind or Controversy concert. Can anyone back this up or give me any details about it)

Dream factory (about 3 or 4 versions of it)

Camille

Crystal ball

Rave unto the joy fantastic

The Undertaker

…are there any others and if so what are their stories and track lists. (Wasn’t there one called ‘I’ll do anything’ or something)

PS. There is a song off the 1989 Rave album called ‘Stimulation’. Is it in circulation, what’s it like and what can I find it on? Also there is a version of Housequake on Jewel case II which I’m guessing was meant to be on the Camille album (If was longer and much funkier because the bass was louder.) The only problem is that the quality is very poor. Does anyone know where else I can find it. (In better quality) ThanX, take care, peace and B wild. wink

The live alum you heard of is probably the Secong Coming documentary film of the Controversy tour. THat video and CD are have been heavily bootlegged for years.

Here are a few more "rumored" projects that I know of...

***"New World"(1994/95)---This is an unreleased techno album.Mayte mentioned it in an interview,so it does exist.

***"Roadhouse Garden"(1998)---A collection of mid-80s Prince and The Revolution songs.

***"The Second Coming"(1981/82)---This is that "Live" album that you mentioned.Apparently,Warners wanted Prince to release a Live album of the Controversy Tour.

***"Whispers and Echoes"(1992)---This was an early version of the "Love Symbol" album. It contained a few tracks that didn't appear on that album ("Fantasia Erotica","Do U Wanna Rock","Rave Church Style").

Wasn't the so-called "Chocolate Box"(likely not Prince's album title) a full album too?

The songs: Moviestar, Place in Heaven, All Day All Nite, We Can Funk, Data Bank, Joy in Rep., etc-- all sounded as though they were from the same era(same sound and band) and fit together in a sequence.

That has always been my favorite unreleased album. Even though we have almost 75% of this album, i would love if NPGMC decided to release a clear copy of this album with the original songs.

peace.

As posted on AMP a few weeks ago:

I now have the pleasure of now knowing Matt Fink, and talking to him weekly
via phone. The 2000 Celebration was almost a full Revolution reunion, but
because of Prince's lack of a formal invitation in a timely manner, Wendy
and Lisa couldn't come. They wanted to though. Prince wanted W&L to
complete Roadhouse Garden (as coproducers) with him, but wasn't willing to
pay them, or even cover their room and board while there. They weren't
going to work for free. When Roadhouse Garden was starting to get some
press in 1998 or so, it was about that time that they were going to get the
album out and maybe do a few gigs as a band to promote it. Larry Graham
entered the picture and started passing out his Watchtower pamphlets.
Prince soon decided that he and the band weren't on the same "spiritual
level", and kinda dropped the project as a whole because none of the band
were going to drop their beliefs and become JW's, or even vegans.

Prince stated in concert in 1995 that there were about 6 unreleased albums from that year. One of which, I remember was a straight-up blues album. Another I believe was 'The Tora Tora Experience'.

Then there is 'Welcome 2 the Dawn' the album Prince talked about in interviews that was ready to drop in '98/'99. The track on 'The Truth' is just an acoustic version of the original. In another magazine interview in late '98 he said that he wanted to release his own 'crazy rock'n'roll album before Christmas'.

Then of course there is also 'Madrid 2 Chicago' a 'smooth jazz album' from '98 (which NPGMC have talked about releasing) and 'When 2 R in Love' a complilation of Prince's love songs which also includes 2 new tracks.

These are just the few I can remember off-hand. There are many, many more.
