The song "Lovesxy" thoughts?....

PLEASE tell me what is your thoughts feelings questions and beliefs about this song! It is so glamouous crazy wild and exciting!!!

Man at work I played that shit LOUD and man...I was in heaven. All the way inside the "pretty lil willow u got me trippin trippin all over the floor"
Download all the shit hop that you can for your kids, neices, nephews, and their friends also. That will prevent them from going out and buying it and will prevent some shit hop sales. Every little bit helps - Andy

And it so almost happened too.
Just prior to it's release, Prince was having second thoughts about having
Glam Slam as the second single. He'd been working on the remixes for Lovesexy
and thought that it would be more suited as the second release from the album.
Unfortunately things had kinda gone past the point of no return with Glam
Slam, and it was decided to release the single as planned rather than scrapping
it at the last minute. Strangely though, when it came time for releasing a
third single, Lovesexy had been put aside in favor of I Wish U Heaven, and
no more singles were released from the album. Unfortunately the single edit
and extended mix of Lovesexy still remain unreleased.

Another example of Prince picking the wrong single mad

"Lovesexy" is a much stronger song than the less-than-thrilling "Glam Slam".

He was still under Warners at the time. I'm sure they were pushing him to go with Glam Slam as opposed to Lovesexy.

They did not know how to promote this album.

Otherwise, the song is sheer perfection!

Should be in mine too. I always forget it, though, for some reason. It's like the invisible track on the album and I'm always surprised when it comes.

I like Glam Slam, but Prince's single choices just defies reason sometimes, Lovesexy is a stellar track, and that extended mix..... well, it's criminal it isn't out there sad

I like "Glam Slam" as an album track, but it's too boring to be a single, and not surprisingly,it bombed big time.Without question, the song "Lovesexy" would have fared better. It's a strong, powerful track. It even received some airplay on one of our local R&B stations.

I love this track. music

In fact, I was watching the Omnibus documentary the other day and - during the part where Femi's at the mixing desk - I was thinking how much I wish this had been released as a single. Imagine the video! drool

One of Prince's best title tracks.

I thought Glam Slam was a single eek

I recall seein' the video so much on BET that I thought it was the single after Alphabet Street.

But then again, I'm no prince historian either. I'm sure someone will point out the truth. smile

But I love the song (Lovesexy) especially now more than ever....the line "heaves is just a kiss away" has helped me deal with the death of my mom last year.

Glam slam was a single. And the video is very good. Its just a performance video but the vibes the band have got are incredible. Evne the gameboyz are in it.

I too love the song "Lovesexy". i get goosebumps sometimes with that song. I always dance to it. I have to be careful, as if iam woalking down the street with my headphones and Iam playing it, i often start dancing. lol

Its a celebration of anything u like. Whatever it was in Prince's mind, it certainly comes across on the song. Very upbeat and smile inducing.

One of my favourite parts! And especially the section that starts:

"A-ll in life becomes easier...

If we only get one song as dense, complicated, funky and bawdy as this one on the next album, I'll be a very happy man. cloud9

I wish he'd play this live. sigh

This is definitely one of my all-time favourite Prince songs. As you say, it's so life-affirming and joy-inducing.

The production is amazing. It sounds so unique. The instrumentation. I love Prince's "full" sound over his stripped down sound. Which is why I prefer "lovesexy" over "sign of the times". Plus i do generally like Prince's happy songs.

You are correct."Glam Slam" was released as the second single (after "Alphabet St.").The video was really popular on BET,I saw it regularly."I Wish U Heaven" was released as the third and final single. Some of us think that the title track should have been a single.
