'Loveleft Loveright' - most overlooked Prince b-side?

B-sides have often been a regular topic for discussion around here, but I couldn't help but to notice how often this particular track is overlooked. Just like 'Violet The Organ Grinder', it was not included in 'The Hits/ The B-Sides' and, despite not being a rarity, some people just continue to be oblivious to its existence.

And funky it is too, sounding like what Prince might have recorded during the vintage 'Dirty Mind' era had the technology been available then. Check that pulsating rhythm and the tasty choppy guitar at the end.

Any comments?

I had to go and buy a new plug for my turntable before I could listen to this track.

I'd completely forgotten what it was like.

And now I know why barf

Same goes for Lubricated Lady and Brother With A Purpose.

I like it as well. I made my own Graffiti Bridge album by taking out the stuff by other artists and throwing in a couple of other songs including Loveleft Loveright. Certainly not the best b-side, but not a bad one.

There's a certain raw, unrefined power to that maxi. Most of the cuts one by one don't do much for me, but gets props from me as an EP in whole. The whole bit after the rappers melds into one cool jam to me, and capped with loveleft loverigt? Yeah.

Yeah that maxi-single made it a glorious time to be a Prince fan. I really miss a good maxi-single from Prince. Like little mini-albums.

6. Brother With A Purpose (Featuring Tony Mosiey)
7. Get Off
8. The Lubricated Lady

Hmmm...I think it´s the most shitty B-side...sounds really like throwaway stuff...the kind of thing he composes and arranges in 10 minutes...
The whole New Power Generation maxi-single is very weak IMO...I dont listen to it in a looong time

What about the pouty look on his face in the cover photo?
Here we are! The New Power Generation!
and on the cover: Prince's pout!
It's funny (or maybe no so funny) how he pouted his way all the way through the Grafitti Bridge film.
Anyway, Loveleft/Loveright, still one of my fav B-sides.

I wasn't that crazy about this song.Sounds like just a throwaway jam that he wanted to release. The remixes for "New Power Generation" weren't too inspiring, imo.
