June 5 in Prince history - Face Down video premiered June 5, 1997 - Face Down video premiered on Canada's Much Music station.
Never saw the whole video. Loved the song as soon as Emancipation came out. Could have been a killer single if handled right - imagine if this was the first single from the album... One of those songs I knew I would love as soon as I read the title. The Days Of Wild of the Emancipation era.

i just wish he hadn't released "betcha by golly howl". Ok song at best, a NON-prince song, and an ok video.
Man, sometimes i go...'what the..??!" That just about killed any momentum that album might have had. Yeah, it sold what 600,000 copies(x3 blah blah). but a leadoff killer single would've really helped it out. www.emale, face down, somebody's somebody, right back...any of these puts betcha by golly wow to shame.

I like the album version of Face Down but that live version he did on the JOTY tour just kicked so much ass. It was so awesome in concert.

I thought the album version was weak when I 1st heard it. Then, he performed it during the JOTY tour and man!!! ... blew me away. That bass kicks MAJOR azz!!! I can't even listen 2 the CD version after that experience. ONE

Dam, dam, dam! I wish I'd experienced the JOTY tour - just for that song.
I loved the Face Down video, though. Wasn't that on the Chris Rock show? The Michael Jackson eeh-hee! scream and the kick was too funny. Is this mike on? Is this mike on?
