from looking at other artists sites, they let fans know what they are up to creatively. However, this is not the case with Prince.....he just stays silent and expects us to buy his stuff when he decides it to be released ?????

Maybe he assumes his fans have a life outside of his music, just like he has a life outside of his fans? Sorry to come back so harshly, but there are other artists who are far less prolific and far more tight-lipped than Prince - sometimes we gotta face it...Prince fans are spoiled rotten.

He's just not a talkative fellow, outside his small circle that is. He never has been so it shouldn't be any surprise to us.

When he is on stage he gives it all up for the fans! BUT when it is time to have a life, yes people do have actual family & friends outside of unknown people screaming & cheering for him

Prince gives us more then any artist ever! LOOK at the music he recorded. LOOK at the 2,000+ songs he has in the can waiting to release for the fans after he passes away!

There is going to be 200 Years of Prince Albums after he passes away! Thats amazing! There is going to be albums after WE pass away! After OUR kids pass away

well, if it's any consolation, i'm as big of a bowie fan as i am a prince freak, and ol' uncle dayvid hasn't given us much of anything to be excited about this year...no new record, no real exciting reissues (though the remastered "david live" and "stage" were nice treats, i'll admit), no signs of life...even though he's going to perform a couple songs for a fashion benefit next month, there's hardly been a peep from him since the "a reality tour" ended. of course, he got poked in the eye and also needed to have heart surgery last year, so it's understandable that he'd want a breather...but still, after a 2004 full of prince and bowie treats left and right, this has been a bone dry year all around.

And it may be chessy and cliche' to say but good things really come to those who wait. After all that happened in 2004, I would really like to believe that something big is in store for us when the new project drops.

Prince has put out over 400 songs officially; he's issued several DVDs and four full-length movies; and there are another 600 "unofficial" songs you can get your hands on. If that isn't enough, there are probably another 500 concerts, including some where he played stuff heard nowhere else.

If he never put out another song, he'd STILL have a catalogue bigger than just about any artist EVER.
