Did Prince for actually laugh at Elton John when congratulated on 1999? Is this in Possessed or some other Prince book or magazine? What's their relationship like now? Did they ever become friends?

I know there's a law against it, but I feel that this thread needs to be bumped. I'm not the only one wondering about this and I know some geeks have the answer

I don't know about that story, but this is a quote from a Prince (or The Artist, at the time) interview in Q Magazine, ca 1998:

...I read even Elton John was saying I should edit my music and sell my albums cheaper. Elton's cool, though. When I was in LA he sang a song from my wife's album to me!

Yes it is true... Elton congratulated Prince, and P just ignored him and walked off with a smirk on his face.

So I guess by 97 Elton just put that behind him and went back to admiring P. P grew up by then anyway, which is good. Does anyone have any more infor on this? Like what concert? Date? Thanks all who put in

1. There was the incident at an award show in the 80's. I think one of Prince,s bodyguard acted badly on stage toward Elton. Don't remember the details though.`

2. Elton has mentionned Prince in interviews a couple of times. He did say Prince needed to edit himself despite his brilliance, but then so did Bono.

Didnt Prince go to Elton Aids Awareness party just this year?
