Extraordinary

Wow. This song is just great!
Rarely gets enough recognition around here so i thought I would start a thread smile
I LOVE this song the whole sound and vibe of it is great. Love the drums and there is a perfect blend of guitar and piano. And the voice and lyrics are jus great, its a brilliant vocal he did there. IMHO its up there with Adore and Scandalous as one of his best ballads. My only moan is that its FAR too short mad . Apart from that an amazing song. biggrin
...just another manic monday...

It's weird that some of these songs from the same era (around 92-93?) are indeed this short. It was like he was just laying down some ideas, then completing the arrangements straight on top of the demos and that was it.

beautiful melody.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."

Lovely little tune. touched I like the coda, "people try to break us up, there were times, a little rough..."

I usually have this on a loop and listen to it several times. Can't get enough. Makes my dick hard, actually.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

in my opinion,"Extraordinary" is bland,insepid,saccharine-laden-drivel!
These are the kind of tunes that tore me away from Prince through- out most of the 90's.

I have come to despise the massive amounts of digital reverb that Prince seems to think is cool on the rim-shots.
Sounds like an Anita Baker outtake.
Then again, this track does come from the vault.
It should have stayed there....

-In regards to my comments above-
After contemplating why I so dislike "over produced" songs such as Extraordinary-is because I grew up with songs like Head and Lets Pretend We're Married etc..my personal taste's require the song to be harder and dirtier.
I want it nasty,damnit!
(what is "extraordinary" is that this is the same dude that did computer blue!)

Yes it is extraordinary. It shows Prince's EXTRAORDINARY range! There has never been a musician with this kind of range - ever! I was just watching the Las Vegas DVD and I was like man, this man is sooooo talented. His range defies definition.
