Dewrede said: I think it is definately worth it. I know a lot of people on amazon in the reviews were complaining about the picture being fuzzy at times, and complaints about the sound, but I have watched this dvd countless times and it is fine. Hope that helps just a little.

You should get it, but be warned that it's no Sign O' the Times. The performances are great for the most part and the band makes this DVD a step above Rave On 2 the Year 2000. The song selection is left field, which is an advantage or a drawback depending on your Prince knowledge. The DVD definitely fails to recreate the feel of a Prince concert -- it's more a collection of concert clips than anything else. However, Strange Relationship, Whole Lotta Love, The Ride and Family Name are well worth your time and $$$.

P so rarely puts out any kind of concert dvds anyway that I thought everyone would snap this one up. "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

I can't recommend it. There is no flow and the picture is really really bad and the sound quality has issues as well. The edits between the songs are probably the most brutal thing I have ever seen on a live DVD by any artist ever. Because of these reasons I just cannot sit through it for more then five minutes. I don't know why he just couldn't release the whole show.

Buy it. It was cool DVD, much better than the Rave one. Just to see the band work on songs like 1+1+1=3 and Strange Relationship. And if you're into Sheila E, she in it too. Having been there that night, it's fun to relive it when I watch it. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Dewrede said: no, it's an inferior product... I bought it, but I've seen boots with almost the same quality. The angles suck and that's one of the many flaws. we can swap

- Yes....too bad it wasn´t opened with the ´Rainbow Children´ song...it would have been great. Anyway I love this DVD...it shows a Prince focused on the music like never before (different from his other DVDs, where there was too much dancing and gimmicks). His band is great also. Lot better than Rave In2 the Year 2000. Definitely worth buying.

yes, you should buy it .....
but it's no great show to watch. I've enjoyed the ONA-aftershows on cd much more before I saw that Prince isn't acting that Funky as he sounds on these shows .... Besides, the DVD is not really representing the show: it's incomplete and shuffled

they done messed this one up
but it has some good moments

Rainbow Children was the first song of the concert. I believe Pop Life was the second. There are quite a few songs that were not on the DVD that he played, including almost the entire piano section. The concert was about 3 hours long. That's why if a Musicology DVD comes out he BETTER put ALL the songs on there. Hopefully, enough people complained from the Aladddin DVD for them to do the right thing, if they release it I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

He didn´t want to repeat the songs. That´s why he made this selection...but it´s still too bad....hehe Are there plans of a Musicology live DVD? Well, it doesnt sound so exciting, because there are lots of ´Hits´ on the tour. Only if he included things like ´Footprints´...

It's a great DVD performance-wise but the picture and sound quality are poor IMO. Still a great DVD though, that band is tight! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Well at least on the Aladdin DVD the performances you see are the ones that you hear, unlike Sign O' The Times, which is performance footage mixed with re-staged footage from Paisley Park with an overdubbed, re-recorded soundtrack! That movie has more tinkering done to it than The Song Remains The Same, which is saying something!! Buy the Aladdin DVD, it's worth it. Certainly a better, more "real", live document than either Sign or Rave. No Sonny T?
No Michael B? Ain't NPG! Spider Wisdom: http://bigesayswhat.blogspot.com/ the Manipulations: http://www.myspace.com/themanipulations
