Both of them has a little disco feel 2 it. That's cool. When U think about it, it's still the 70's. "For You"-1978 and "Prince"-1979. I enjoy For You better bcuz I just like the songs more than on the Prince album. For You has the track "Crazy U". Now that track is hot, short as hell but still hot. On the Prince album U have "Y U wannna treat me so bad", the guitar solo is fire, 1 of his best solos on record. I C a lot of U like the song "Bambi" and "Sexy Dancer" I think. "I wanna B Ur lover" was a hit and so was "Soft and Wet" was a minor hit 4 his 1st record. "Im Your's" on the For You record is also a track of the future of his rock/funk and what was 2 come later. I'm 4 "For U" cuz of the hot track "Crazy U" and "I'm your's", the funky and guitar solo. Some of the other songs on the Prince album R kinda borin'. Which 1 do U dig the most.

Prince,I got For You when it first came out on 8-track ,but the second album is when I became a bona fide Prince freak.

It's hard to choose...there are moments on each I really like. I certainly like the cover of the first better. But I think I like Prince better than For You.

Both dammit

Prince, hands-down. Prince's songwriting and musicianship drastically improve on this album.

Both songs caught my attention....

For me, it's not even close. "Prince" is by far the superior album. Better written songs, better produced album. Even P has said that he needed a hit album after his first album. He considered this one to be it.

For You, because it is innocent and naive and sweet as honey, scooped out by a greedy grizzly bear.

I really really like For You -- but I don't think it's even in my Top 10 fav Prince albums.
Prince, on the other hand, is in my top 3 or 4 fav Prince albums. It's gorgeous all around!!

Like most,if not all of Prince's albums during the first 10 years or so, the second album was only an improvent of the first. Lord, how I wish he'd play more songs from it because there's some really good stuff there!

Great lyrics, great emotion and vulnerability.

I really dig "Soft And Wet' and "I'm Yours", but, my vote goes to PRINCE.

I like the one he saw fit to give his own name. He was obviously proud of it (at some point at least) and for good reason.
