Is Cloreen Bacon Skin a racist song?

Does it refer to white people's skin or is it 2 b interpreted in other ways? Ex: acne?

No. But one could argue that it is degrading to women.

Ummm
I may be off, but I always thought the reference had to do with a cocaine problem. Acne is often a side affect of this. And has been the rumor, both Morris and Vanity had a little too much of the stuff.Which might explain the less than flattering comments to a female.

I could probably detail more, but I haven't listened to the song in awhile.

You mean, as if one could interpret Cloreen as "chlorine," like bleach or white? That's interesting.

You never know.

No. The song describes an ugly, old dude, talking about his older, uglier wife. Cloreen BaconSkin is just a bizzaro, funky Prince character name (like Joey Coco, Jamie Starr, Alexander Nevermind, Camille, Azifwekare, etc). "Cloreen" is obviously suppossed to be a ridiculous name for a woman.

Prince is just improving, making stuff up on the spot, and not a lot should be read into it. This is the track that formed the basis for the Time B-side "Tricky".

Nothing. I don't think we'll see a CBII anytime in the near future.

Prince played the bass on this with gloves on.
A sample of Morris Day's drum track from this "song" was used on "New Power Generation".

nod Yes, it is only P and Morris. "Alfred" is the character that P has assigned to Morris.

You just don't want to see the real truth. Cloreen Bacon Skin is an attack by Prince on white people with bad acne.
