Are there any? I have the videotape but I'm thinking of buying the DVD. Are there any scenes that aren't on the videotape?

There are a couple of documentaries which are interesting even though Prince wouldn't appear and some music videos but to the best of my knowledge there are no deleted scenes.

there are No Deleted scenes on the PR dvd.. None... zilch zero... dont let people bullshit you

yes, there are deleted scenes but no they are not included in the dvd.

With all of the Prince bootlegs out there, Im surprised that there aint no extended uncut version of "Purple Rain" with additional scenes floating around out there anywhere. Plus, if its like a "milestone", you would think there would be.

If you watch the trailer you will see a couple of scenes that are not in the movie. One that always got me was the one where Prince is knocking out a member of the Time..it may have been Jellybean.

You can tell the Train Scene- of thinking he wanted to kill himself which is in the movie. The beard stubble is in some shots & we see in the trailer Prince punching the old dude in the Apollonia 6 rehearsal.

There is more there, but the editing of the movie never brought out Prince's Pain in this section of the movie. right now we see more little clips that dont match.

Also in the trailer and in the video for When Doves Cry there is the big love scene with Prince and Apples in the barn that was cut. I would love to seen that. She has a nice back view.
Also the fight during the rehersal with the time and A/6. Prince punched someone and Jellybean grabed P. from behind. Also there was a scene where Morris and Apples were spying on P.'s house and running across the front yard.

Check out the trailer again and you will see alot of this. Too bad they did not include this in the dvd set.

if not just buy it for all the videos that r on there,,,like 60 mins worth

I saw all those scenes in the commercial for the movie. There is also a scene with Morris standing on the sidewalk as a police car drives off.
