He's huge fan of Bootsy and listened to lots of P-Funk,The Stones and James Brown and the JB's. Alot of the other stuff came later as he progressed in music.

I would venture that Prince never listened to Miles or Coltrane until he formed the Revolution and allowed some new influences into his inner circle. The Miles/Prince connection is highly overrated anyway, especially on this board. And I don't ever recall him mentioning the Beatles as any sort of musical influence. He respected their ability to be popular using different styles, but there's never been a direct musical link between Prince and the Beatles.

It's evident that your knoweledge regarding P's musical backaground is limited. Being that his parents were heavily involved in jazz, it goes without saying that jazz artists would impact P extensively. P has collaborated with Miles on numerous occasions on wax and on stage. As for his Beatles influnce, its obvious that Around The World In A Day concept had some similarities to Sg.Peppers Band.
