He's huge fan of Bootsy and listened to lots of P-Funk,The Stones and James Brown and the JB's. Alot of the other stuff came later as he progressed in music.

The Miles/Prince connection is highly overrated anyway, especially on this board. And I don't ever recall him mentioning the Beatles as any sort of musical influence. He respected their ability to be popular using different styles, but there's never been a direct musical link between Prince and the Beatles.
