Now that it something I haven't listened to in years.
I'll have to dig it out & listen. I remember when it came out there seemed no reason for its release. Suddenly theres this medley cd single for sale for what purpose? | |

Well it was released in Europe to co-incide with the 95 Tour. Personally, I just find it disjointed. Especially as it takes 3 minutes or so to kick into something that at least feels like a flow of tracks. | |

What no one seems to point out about the Medley, is that it is not simply a cut and paste of old Prince tracks - at the very least some of the vocals have been re-recorded. For instance, listen to the Darlin' Nikki bit, he sings it far faster than the original.
So I wonder if he just recorded the particular bits or the whole songs and then edited it together? It must be the earliest example of remastering his back catalogue. | |
