I enjoyed it. I didn't see anyone complain when he injected plenty of spirituality into the Lovesexy project.

One of his best albums ever!! Rivals his '80s output...

shake NO WAY!!!!! It does not compare to anything he did in the 80's.

Not to you, but to me it does...it's a great concept album, much like Lovesexy and Around the World in a Day....

The Rainbow Children album upsets my stomach. The music is good but the feelings that come up aren't. For me it signified a radical change from the all loving Prince that I used to know. The TRC Prince crashed into a new philosophy that limited his ability to reach all fans. It felt like a separation and exclusion of those who did not agree wholeheartedly. Not to mention that interpretation of some of the lyrics in TRC could be very subjective and contrary to the original intent.

There wasn't any of that on Musicology though was there, and by all accounts, he still holds the same views. Anyone who kept up with Prince 1998 through 2000 would've seen him express many of the same opinions, or similar, to those expressed on TRC.

TRC probably represents Prince speaking his mind, and from that stand-point alone it's better than something like Musicology, which was just made as a cash-cow.

I'd rather have something honest, than something made for MTV.

for me it's not the easiest of his albums to listen to from beginning to end,
but there are moments, many moments, that are stunning.
this cd, in my opinion, really highlights his intellegence.
the voice distracts for me a little, but at some moments i love it,
like the intro to 1+1+1 = 3.
the rainbow children, as an album, makes me hungry for more.
i did think musicology as a whole was very solid, but the rainbow
children elevated prince at least 7 levels above the average musician.

peace,
m

i just got TRC yesterday. the cd's good the only songs that scares the hell out of me are "The Rainbow Children". especially the part when the "rise" in the chorus get louder and louder. eek and another scary song is "Wedding Feast"
sounds like something from the cartoon "Beauty and the Beast" but all and all is a good spirtual cd.

For me it's his best recent album. Just musically stunning. nod

I like Musicology and NEWS also and I think that his form in the noughties so far is difficult to fault.
